Our thoughts

CrossFit Victoria is one of the first CrossFit affiliates in Australia. They have been doing their thing longer than most and have struck a great formula. Coaches are professional and friendly. Workouts are challenging but are scaled to the level of the individual.

The gym is a converted warehouse. It’s bare but contains all the necessary equipment. Better amenities would make an improvement (but most athletes don’t seem to use them anyway as they live close by). Classes can be large and a bigger venue would be great (the owners are currently looking for a new home).

All in all, it’s a great place to visit for a few sessions and the full-time members rave about the training they get.

Summary

If you are familiar with CrossFit and are staying in or near Melbourne, the crew at CrossFit Victoria will provide exactly what you’re after.

Pros:

  • Close to the Melbourne CBD
  • Great atmosphere
  • Friendly trainers and athletes
  • A great workout
  • Resident MMA team

Cons:

  • No access to gym outside class or appointment times
  • Might seem daunting to those unfamiliar with CrossFit and strength and conditioning
