Hotel gym workouts

2 April 2010 1,201 views One Comment

Hotel gyms are unlikely to contain all the equipment that you are used to using in your standard workout environment. These facilities are set-up to accommodate people that workout because it’s the thing to do not necessarily to actually get fit. Therefore, you really need to think about what id likely to work for you in these limited environments.

Assumptions

  • limited barbell weight, not enough to complete a decent strength-focus workout
  • no pull-up bars or rings
  • treadmills are the predominant “cardio” machine
  • limited free space in the gym
  • you will avoid cable machines at all costs

Workout #1

Three rounds (for time):

  • 500m row (replace with treadmill run as a last resort)
  • 25 push-ups
  • 25 squats

Workout #2

20-15-10-5 reps (for time) of:

  • dumbbell press, 2x10kg (min.)
  • box jump
  • sit-up

Workout #3

Complete as many rounds as possible in 10 minutes of:

  • 10 kettlebell/dumbbell swings, 15kg (min.)
  • 10 burpees
  • 10 lunges

Workout #4

For time:

  • 50 lateral jumps
  • 50 push-ups
  • 50 sit-ups
  • 50 squats

Workout #5

Three rounds (for time):

  • 500m row
  • 500m run

End note

These are very simple workouts. That’s the whole point. We hope they give you a place to start with your travelling fitness program.

Great list of hotel workouts… A good way to ensure a great hotel gym is to check out http://www.HotelGymReview.com before you leave for your next trip. Also be sure to write reviews about the facility. We’re a new website so we really need people to write reviews. Please note.. I am one of the founders but I think this comment is on topic..

    Thanks!
